TUT Self Help:
At the Tshwane University of Technology, self-help resources are available to students in several forms. These resources include online tools and services, such as the university’s student portal, which provides access to academic records, course materials, and other important details. The student portal also provides resources for managing timetables, tracking academic progress, and accessing support services.
The Tshwane University of Technology offers several self-help resources to support its students in accomplishing their academic and personal objectives. Students are urged to take advantage of these resources to help them succeed during their time at the university.
myTUTor Login Journey
The Tshwane University of Technology’s official learning management system is called myTUTor. Access to online learning materials, conversations with lecturers and peers, and online examinations are all made possible through the LMS. All online learning resources can be accessed through this window. Academic departments are in charge of creating and updating the content.
The LMS is accessible at https://mytutord2l.tut.ac.za using your TUT4Life email address and password (students) or Active Directory credentials (staff).

TUT4Life
You must be a registered student with TUT to use this integrated service. Your 50GB email and 1TB SkyDrive account, along with enhanced access to other Microsoft technologies, will be automatically generated once you have registered as a student with TUT. You must reset your account to activate it.
Steps to reset your account:
- Go to Start, Internet Explorer, or Click open any browser
- Type in https://tut4life.tut.ac.za
- Click on “Reset My Password”
- then click “Submit” after providing your student ID number.
- Now alter your password to something unique. Keep in mind that you must adhere to all of the password rules displayed on the screen!
- Choose a new password now. Observe the following password requirements.
- You must confirm your new password before you can access your email. After two minutes, the password will synchronize. TUT Self Help
Password Criteria
- Password must contain characters from four of the following categories:
- Uppercase characters (A through Z)
- Lowercase characters (a through z)

Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
- Special characters: ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;”‘<>,.?/
- Password must contain at least 8 characters and a maximum of 16
- Your student number may not appear in your password
- Password may not consist of 4 consecutive numerical
- Password must not contain the user’s account name (full name and surname)
