About TUT Interior Design
Diploma in Interior Design is a distinctive three-year program designed to cultivate graduates capable of implementing design concepts in the expert structuring, crafting, outfitting, and adorning of interior spaces for residences, retail outlets, and commercial establishments. Eligible students will acquire expertise in computer-assisted design, visual methods, the fundamentals of indoor illumination, sound dynamics, harmonizing systems, color arrangement, and the historical evolution of interior design and era-specific aesthetics.
The curriculum also encompasses instruction in furniture creation, practical construction blueprints and plans, structural composition, and comprehension of commercial and residential design standards and assessment guidelines. As a participant in the Work Integrated Learning initiative, you will be integrated into domestic interior design enterprises, establishing a foundation within the local industry. By concentrating on specific areas, you open avenues to potentially becoming an entrepreneur through ownership of a small enterprise, operating as a self-employed designer, advisor, draftsman, or visualizer.
A qualified interior designer will have the competency to apply specialized principles creatively and use procedures and regulatory knowledge to manage and implement practical solutions that will innovatively solve interior design problems within an African context.
