TUT Accommodation Residence Life and Catering:

Choosing the right accommodation is very important in the aspect of the university experience, and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) goes the extra mile to provide students with a comfortable and supportive living environment. TUT’s accommodation, residence life, and catering services are designed to create a home away from home for students.

TUT Accommodation Residence Life and Catering

The 36 TUT residences that are currently either owned or leased vary in size, facilities offered and price. In general, the following are available at a reasonable cost to students:

Single rooms or rooms for 2, 3 and 4 students sharing
Ablution facilities
Recreation facilities
Daily cleaning services of common areas
Security services
Laundry facilities (at no additional cost)
Internet centres
Facilities for students with disabilities on each campus

Furniture

Every student chamber is equipped with a bedstead and mattress, study table and seat, closet, waste receptacle, drapes, and sweeper. Students have the option to furnish certain smaller items personally. However, communication from the residence will outline particular requisites or permissions for items that can be brought into the dwelling.

Students are also permitted to bring along the subsequent possessions to the residence. However, it’s advised to consult the residence advisor beforehand to ascertain if any of these items are already furnished and if there’s adequate room within the chamber for them. Students should also acknowledge that they bear accountability for these belongings and assume the risk in cases of theft, loss, or damage. It’s worth noting that items might also need to be taken out of residence rooms during holiday breaks.

Catering services

While certain accommodations offer self-catering amenities, cafeterias providing three well-balanced and economical meals are accessible at the Pretoria West, Soshanguve, and Ga-Rankuwa campuses.

No cooking is allowed in residence rooms.

Transport services

Bus transport is available for all students staying in residences that are not situated on campus. All residence students are levied with a transport fee that allows them to use any of the TUT buses.
